Teaching for me is a gift given by God. Teachers are there to teach little ones, give them guidance and help them explore the world. I started teaching part time when I was 16 at Montessori Pre-Primary and every school holiday, I was able learn more about being a teacher and how to show the children growth, independence and just having fun while doing this.
My introduction to teaching was Montessori and I have been incorporating it for over 17 years. I have done so many workshops from math introduction for 6-year-olds, sensory development for toddlers and first aid and safety and fire training from 3-month-olds to Grade 1.
I have studied Early Childhood development and also have also participated in special needs courses.
I had the privilege of working as an aftercare manager for a primary school and helped so many grades with their projects, homework and assisting in their guidance path.
Working with younger children is helping the future generations to grow and learn. Teaching is a calling and a passion.
I have been told my entire life I over explain myself which has only been an asset to me as little one’s love asking questions and need explaining, and they will ask the same question over and over again in a space of ten minutes, but their innocence and ability to learn is amazing and so full of hope and love. I could not imagine my life without little ones to inspire me to be a better person.
One very important factor in teaching is the assistants that one gets to work with and my first few months at Midlands Baby Centre have had a wonderful team to work with and coming to work is fun, enthusiastic and makes our class feel fun and ready for anything going forwards.
Looking forward to many years ahead at Midlands Baby House.
